Heads Up: Toys R Us Annual Buy 2 Get 1 Free Deal

It’s that time of the year again. Toys R Us’ B2G1 sale, which takes place between October 14th and October 20th, is upon us and it’s a fantastic  (and cheap) way to keep up on all the excellent games that have come out so far this Fall. If you’ve never partaken in the sale before, allow me to explain: You get to pick any three video games in stock at your local TRU (or online) and either the cheapest is free, or the third that’s rung up if they’re all the same price. If you’ve got the money, the deal can be repeated, even during the same purchase. Pick up six games, and you’ll get two of them for free.

Do note that this goes for their *entire* stock, so whether you want to pick up some old games or recent releases, everything is eligible. Even packs with multiple games or accessories, such as Guitar Hero. Feel free to mix and match games for different platforms, as well.

For a more detailed description of the sale and its rules, check out Sho_Nuff82’s post on NeoGAF (also, thanks to DrDarkStryfe for the original heads-up). So what are some good choices for the deal?

  • LAIR (PS3)
  • Heavenly Sword (PS3)
  • Folklore (PS3)
  • Hot Shots Golf 5 (PS3)
  • Warhawk (PS3)
  • Ninja Gaiden Sigma (PS3)
  • Skate. (PS3/360)
  • Jeanne D’Arc (PSP)
  • Syphon Filter: Logan’s Shadow (PSP)
  • Final Fantasy Tactics: The Lion War (PSP)
  • Bioshock (360)
  • HALO 3 (360)
  • Orange Box (360)
  • Blue Dragon (360)
  • Eternal Sonata (360)
  • PGR4 (360)
  • Metroid Prime 3: Corruption (Wii)
  • Zelda: Phantom Hourglass (DS)

Sadly, the sale ends just before a lot of the really big names hit, but it’s an awesome opportunity to catch up or buy some games that you have a passing interest in, but would never spend the money on. A lot of other great games have been released earlier this year, so if you don’t have enough picks to fill in three spots, consider those, too.

This is the best deal you’re going to get this season.
